When it came to representing a particualr social group (refering to gender, race and age) we did not favour one. we used an mix-race and mixed gender cast. The Main character was a femal detective which genrally subverts the traditional ideology of male dominance but we also used a white female murder victim. The age or our characters wasnt particulary specific, we aimed for a late twentie/early thirties for the detectives and dressed them accordingly but the murder victims could have been anywhere between 18-25.
Our Cast was a little like that of 'Inside Man' in the fact that it was a mixed race and gender crime.
We did not make any specific refrences to anything that would mark a rough age, such as family or childern, but we made it clear that one of the murder victims was living independantly from his parents but mantioning that the post was adressed to him and he was the owner of the house that the crime scene was situated in.
